BANGLADESH CRICKET IS ANOTHER NAME OF LOVE.

 BANGLADESH CRICKET :


Cricket of Bangladesh representing our country for many years. The success rate is increasing day by day in Bangladesh cricket. When the team performs on the field the crowd of Bangladeshi people is just a reminder of not only the 11 players but also the whole nation in the game.





The logo of Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) is made with a tiger and Bangladeshi National Martyrs’ Memorial Monument. The logo also presents the cricketers as tigers and also reminds us about our liberation.


Bangladesh cricket is an emotion for the people of Bangladesh. When the team gets victory it feels like we won by ourselves not only the playing 11. The victory makes us smile, the losing makes us cry. That is why cricket is an emotion. When the boys bring victory, the flag of red and green wins.


Okay then, let’s start from the beginning. Bangladesh won the icc trophy in 1997, and qualified for icc cricket world cup in 1999. Bangladesh first ever got the membership of icc on 26 June 2000.






BANGLADESH CRICKET ACHIEVEMENTS : 


In the 1999 Bangladesh beat mighty Pakistan, the champion of 1992 world cup. Bangladesh just surprised all of the cricket playing nations. This was the start of the raising of Bangladesh cricket.



This moment of winning against Pakistan was unbelievable for Bangladeshi fans. But the Bengal tigers turn it into reality. 



In 2007 Bangladesh beat mighty india which was another surprise for the world especially specially for India, Bangladesh also qualified for super 8 in 2007 where teams like India and Pakistan knocked out from the group stage. Another historical win was in the 2011 world cup against England. In the 2012 Asia cup Bangladesh Beat both India and Sri Lanka by 5 wickets. That time Bangladesh was the runner-up. Unfortunately in the final Bangladesh lost to Pakistan By only 2 runs, this lose made the whole nation cry . In the 2014 Asia cup Bangladesh took the revenge they beat Pakistan in a do or die match and qualified for the final. But this time Bangladesh lose the final against India. In the 2015 World Cup Bangladesh did well, they beat Afghanistan, Scotland, England and qualified for the quarter finals Under the captaincy of Mashrafe. When Bangladesh crossed the line of group stage and qualified for the quarter finals the whole nation celebrated it as their very own victory. In 2015 Bangladesh also Bangla Washed Pakistan by(3-0) and secured series victory. In 2016 Bangladesh beat India by(2-1) secured series victory.There are a number of series victories secured by team tigers. 2016 was a good year for Bangladesh  cricket. In the 2017 Champions trophy Bangladesh reached the semifinals by beating mighty Newzeland. Now another historical victory for Bangladesh was in the 2018 Nidahas trophy(tri-nation series among Bangladesh, India, Sri lanka). Bangladesh Beat Sri Lanka on their ground and qualified for the final. In the same year Bangladesh also did well in the Asia cup. Bangladesh beat Pakistan and Afghanistan in super 4 and qualified for the final. Again Bangladesh lost the final. Bangladesh is three time runner-up in the history of Asia cup. But Bangladeshi players and fans are upset as we never won the asia cup though we played the final three times. The young players did well in the recent past, specially they won the icc u19 cricket world cup title. In 2020 Bangladesh was the champion of the under-19 world cup. In 2021,2022,2023(July), Bangladesh did tremendously well in the icc world cup super league. Bangladesh complete the league by holding the 3rd position. 





SOME LEGENDS OF BANGLDESH CRICKET :

Let’s talk about some cricket legends of Bangladesh.  Meherab hossain is the first centuriean in the history of Bangladesh cricket. There are many more legends specially “Poncho pandob”, it means five legendary cricketers ever in the history of Bangladesh cricket.


 


The five players are (from the left corner) Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad and Tamim Iqbal. These five players are pure gems of Bangladesh.Their contribution in Bangladesh cricket is unforgettable.   


BANGLADESH WOMEN CRICKET TEAM :


Bangladesh women cricket team is also doing well in the recent past. They won the women’s asia cup in 2018 by beating India in the final. The girls also doing good in both ODI and T20I format in cricket.



BANGLADESH PREMIER LEAGUE(BPL) :


BPL is another glorious thing in Bangladesh cricket. BPL is a Bangladeshi franchise league. Many foreign players come to play BPL for different franchises. BPL is now one of the popular tournaments in the cricket world. The champions of BPL are Cumilla Victorians(4 times). Dhaka gladiators(2 times), Dhaka dynamites(1 time), Rajshahi royals(1 time), Rangpur riders(1time) There are many teams who did not win the title but are hoping to get it in next seasons of BPL.





UPCOMING BIG TOURNAMENTS AND HOPE FOR BANGLADESH CRICKET :  


The upcoming big tournaments are the Asia cup 2023 and ICC cricket world cup 2023.

Both the players and fans are hoping for the best result in these tournaments. Especially the dream trophy, the golden trophy is the dream of all. Everyone is hoping that Bangladesh will win the world cup this year and will bring the golden trophy for every Bangladeshi.
